JJCAB in a nutshell

You'll present your work during two events:

  • a 3 minutes long lightning talk,
  • a 1h poster session.

Think of your lightning talk as a teaser for the poster: be as accessible and clear as you can!

The lightning talk

presentationflash

Within 3 minutes, present your work and their outcomes. You may come with a few slides if you wish.

Focus on the context of the study, mention the main scientific arguments for the audience to be interested and the most important result(s).

It can be useful to include in your slides the most striking of your poster's graphics so the audience finds you easily during the poster session.

It is not mandatory to use your PhD subject as a poster and presentation title... actually don't! Pick something short, teasing and easily reminded instead!

 The Poster

Poster

Your poster is the support to spark the discussion with the other participants. Put your work upfront and make it clear!

The poster must build up on your presentation's info and complete it, it gives context, clarify the principle of your reasoning and shows how your research assembles to give exciting results.

A poster is not an article ! Avoid mathematical derivations or complex theoretical developments.
It must serve as a basis for a discussion : include newly-baked results, ideas for future research, open questions and show you're thinking way ahead of the results youralready got. A good poster can lead to tremendously interesting and fructuous discussions!

The poster must be printed on A0 format.
